Mr Frederick Yu, JP

Mr. Yu is one of the founder and senior partner of our firm. Starting as an audit manager with Coopers & Lybrand (presently PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in the 1960’s, he eventually joined Worldwide Shipping Agency Ltd. as an Assistant Financial Controller.

Mr. Yu is one of the founder and senior partner of our firm. Starting as an audit manager with Coopers & Lybrand (presently PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in the 1960’s, he eventually joined Worldwide Shipping Agency Ltd. as an Assistant Financial Controller. He started his own practice under the name of Frederick Yu & Co., C.P.A. in 1969. This was eventually merged with Fung & Co., C.P.A. in 1973 as Fung, Yu & Co., C.P.A. Mr. Yu graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hong Kong. He is a member of the Australian Society of Accountants and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Sammy Lau

Sammy is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and CPA Australia. She holds a double degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Professional Accounting) and Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) from University of South Australia.

Sammy is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and CPA Australia. She is experienced in handling various audit and accounting engagements over a wide variety of industries. She has also been involved in special assignments such as internal control reviews and due diligence regarding mergers and acquisitions. Sammy gained her experience in various international accounting firms before joining our firm.

Philip Yu

Philip started his practice in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and joined our firm in 2001. Philip is experienced in handling cross border taxation issues, corporate restructuring and other cross border business solutions.

Philip is experienced in handling cross border taxation issues, corporate restructuring and other cross border business solutions. He undertakes additional posts as Company Secretary, Authorized Representative and Independent Non-Executive Director for several listed companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Richard joined our firm in 2001 and is a practicing certified public accountant registered with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants with over 15 years of experience in the field.

His family's 60-year-old firm, Fung Yu & Co., offers integrated financial services across Hong Kong, China, and Europe.

Harry Yu is the Honorary Director at The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Center for Family Business (CFB), where he contributes to research and education in family governance and intergenerational succession. His published case studies on prominent Hong Kong multigenerational families are incorporated into CUHK’s curriculum, supporting the professional development of the family office sector. Based in Shanghai for over two decades, Harry has extensive experience collaborating with family offices in China, helping them navigate the complexities of global expansion and cross-border wealth planning. He leads the private client services at Fung Yu Trust, specializing in trust structuring and family office solutions for ultra-high-net-worth families. Fung Yu & Co., founded by his father, is a family-operated firm celebrating its 60th anniversary. As one of Hong Kong’s longest-established firms in financial management, tax, and fiduciary services, Fung Yu & Co. serves clients through offices in Hong Kong, mainland China, and Europe. Suki holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS). Prior to joining our CPA firm, she had worked in international CPA firms. Suki is experienced in providing professional auditing, taxation, accounting and related services for various HK and overseas listed companies and also small and medium-enterprises which cover a wide variety of industries. In addition, she also has experience in special assignments such as due diligence and review of internal controls for VSAs and IPOs.

Orion graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a Bachelor of Accounting.
He has been a key person in ensuring customer success with more than 10 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and taxation services covering APAC and EMEA regions.
He is also an expert in special assignments such as tax investigation, tax resident advisory, PRC investment construction, and corporate restructuring.

Irene Lee

Manager – Accounting Services

Irene graduated as a Bachelor of Accounting from Edinburgh Napier University and she is now a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Having been devoted to accounting industry for years, she is familiar with local accounting standards and is experienced in handling accounting engagements for clients of different business structure, such as sole proprietorship and small and medium-sized enterprises, which are engaging in various fields, including trading, retail, sourcing and consultancy services.

Feona Leung

Manager – Accounting Service

Feona holds a master of applied finance from University of Western Sydney and a Bachelor of Accounting from Macquarie University and she is now a member of Certified Public Accountants Australia (CPAA). She is experienced in facilitate the accounting services for various sized companies and being involved in a wide range of industries including food and beverage, information technology, trading and retail.

Eva Tong

Manager – Corporate Services

Eva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has extensive experience as a company secretary. She has worked for several Hong Kong listed companies and professional corporate service firms, primarily managing matters related to the Main Board and GEM listed companies. In addition to her familiarity with the Listing Rules and the Securities and Futures Ordinance for compliance operations. Eva possesses significant experience in company secretarial practices and compliance management for private companies registered in Hong Kong and offshore regions.

Johnny Chen

Senior Manager – China Office

Johnny graduated as a Bachelor of Finance from Sun Yat Sen University, Guangzhou, China. He dedicated his services to our firm since 2007. Johnny is familiar with local corporate administration and human resource arrangements and is committed to providing a series of PRC corporate and HR solutions for investors into Mainland China and especially the Guangzhou and Shenzhen area, providing assistance for clients to develop their business. He is experienced in serving customers in different industries including wholesale and distribution, retail, F&B, logistics, manufacturing and sourcing.

Elaine Cheung

Canadian Tax Advisor

Miss Elaine Cheung graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Brock University (Canada), and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
Prior to joining our firm, Elaine had over 23 years of public accounting experience. She started her practice in GRANT THORNTON Toronto office and afterwards, started her own practice in North York, Ontario 20 years ago. Elaine is experienced in serving various sizes of enterprise in different industries, including manufacturing, trading, retail and professional corporations for their Canadian inbound investment needs including their tax compliance, accounting, audit, payroll and other corporate compliance issues.

Mikael Charette

Vice President – Shanghai Office

Mikaël graduated summa cum laude in 2002 from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa, where he completed a License in Civil Law. He then went on to complete a Juris Doctor degree in Common Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Victoria. While studying at Uvic, Mr. Charette was a participant in an exchange program at the University of Oxford, England, where he undertook a rigorous program in International Intellectual Property Laws. He is a Québec certified lawyer. His education has been an ideal environment in which to develop bilingualism, multiculturalism and bijuralism. These are the foundations of the Canadian system, but also represent facets of the globalized world of today.
Mr. Charette has completed a master’s in law at the City University of Hong Kong with honors, where his research was mainly focused on International trade and Chinese Business Law. Coupled with his passion for international relations, law and Entrepreneurship he has a strong commitment to the community. He was a member of the board of directors of a Desjardins branch from 1999 to 2002. Mr. Charette has a long experience dealing with Chinese investors to Canada, Europe and USA and has been the Managing-Partner in China of an International Law firm from 2009 to 2015. He collaborated with major law firms and investment funds in Canada, USA and Europe on cross-border transactions, including financing and acquisitions of overseas entities. Mr. Charette was a lecturer at the Desautel management faculty of McGill University, as well as a lecturer on several forums about China, Entrepreneurship and globalization issues. He now leads Well Asia Group as president and is the COO of WEllfunded Enterprise an investment fund and is very proud to lead as Vice-President, International Investment the Fung Yu Group team in Shanghai. He also sat on various Boards of directors including, Canada-China Business Council, the HK Canada business Association, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and the Institut Innovation Gatineau a regional incubator and accelerator.

Samuel Fernandez

Luxembourg Representative

Samuel holds a bachelor’s degree in law and political science from the Latin-American University of Science and Technology in Panama. While working for an international corporate service provider, he gained experience as a corporate administrator and honed his business development skills. He moved to Luxembourg in early 2011. With Bruno, they will be focusing on assisting and accompanying Latin-American and European companies wishing to set up or expand their business into Asia. Vice versa, they will be accompanying investors from Asia who are interested in carrying out investments in Europe through Luxembourg.
